I grew up in northern Indiana on an old farmstead where my seven siblings and I were all home-schooled and taught to work. I became a Christian when I was ten. While finishing my senior year in high school, I began working at a battery store and was there for nearly four years.
My parents met each other at Northern Youth Programs back in the 90’s, so I have grown up listening to stories about the North. I had a few friends, a cousin, and then a brother spend a few years serving here. All of that has kept me interested in what God is doing in the North. Once I was youth age, I went on multiple trips to Northwestern Ontario. On one trip, I helped teach vacation Bible school at Pickle Lake, and on another trip we cut fire wood here for a week. In 2018, I was privileged to help with Summer Camps at Beaver Lake Camp as a maintenance man; then in 2019, I was a summer camp counselor. After I applied for summer camps in 2019, I was asked to take the long-term maintenance position that my brother was leaving. That opened the door to God’s calling to serve Him here in the North.
