I (Amos) came to northwestern ON in 1965 when I was 20. Verna came after we were married in August 1966. Our first home was at Pikangikum until February 1968. Then we lived at Pickle Lake until August of 1972. Thunder Bay was our next place to live. While in the city I did part-time education upgrades at Confederation College. We moved to Beaver Lake Camp (BLC), Dryden, in the fall of 1975.
Dryden is home for us. Over the years our role has been BLC director, counsellor, workshop facilitator/teacher, and Northern Youth Programs Executive Director (1994 to 2013). Currently, the focus for us is presenting different workshops in communities and counselling. I have a BA from the University of Waterloo and a MA in Biblical Counseling from Providence Theological Seminary, Otterburne, MB.
